Autonomous Agricultural Outpost on the ‘Italy That Changes’ map

At the dawn of the Avamposto Agricolo Autonomo project, one of the first journalists to take an interest was Elisa Elia from Italia Che Cambia. Elisa visited the sites of the first Avamposto, in Zoccolà, before it moved to Suvari. She immediately decided to include it in the Mappa dell’Italia che Cambia (Map of Changing Italy) and took it upon herself to put Sofia and Raffaele in touch with similar organisations in Calabria. The article on the Italia Che Cambia Facebook page was shared hundreds of times and was a huge media success at national level. The publication period was post-Covid-19 pandemic, and the comments under the post were very heated between fans of the project and sceptics. It is satisfying for the small Avamposto community to see how, five years on, many of the goals set at the time have been achieved and that the activities continue and are intensifying, as are the farm’s crops and the work on the regenerated land.
